Alyssa and I didn't know each other very well until our senior year at Gadsden High School. We became very close friends very quickly - doesn't sound too amazing but it's very rare for me. One of my fondest memories of that year are Alyssa and I riding together to most of our AP Biology field trips, and of course the time we almost got lost forever in Birmingham! She's a sweet and loyal friend who will always be close to my heart. She's currently a sophomore at University of Miami.
Kyle - Lee don't cuss, there's a lady present!
Lee - Haha Alyssa's not a lady!
Alyssa - WHAT?
Lee - Um....I just mean um...you're not uptight and prissy as Kyle was implying. You're cool.
Alyssa - Oh. You're so sweet. *rests her head on my shoulder*
Kyle - ...are you kidding me?

Catherine and I have been best friends since we were toddlers. We still argue about things that happened at her first birthday party. In 8th grade, Catherine, Edelweiss, Matt Misko, and I were best friends, an extremely tight-knit group. Unfortunately Catherine and I went to different high schools so we're not so inseperable anymore, but we're still very close. Catherine is a pre-law sophomore at University of Alabama.
Catherine - I love you! Have fun and don't do anything I wouldn't.
Lee - Don't worry Cat, you raised me right.

Daniel Anderman, or DA as he is affectionately known, has been a good friend for many years, since the beginning of high school. We bonded immediately in high school as neither of us were the pretty-boy type that always got the girls. Like many others, DA spent a decent portion of high school hangin out at my house. Daniel is currently back home getting his GSCC on. I wish him Godspeed in his return to a real school. Read the following quote for hints about his nickname. Hint: It's not an acronym for his initials!
DA - How'd you fix your glasses?
Lee - ...by buying new ones
DA - oh
Lee - ...wow

Edel and I have been friends since she came to Saint James Catholic School in the third grade. She and I have always shared a bond lacking in many of my relationships, the 'Old Married Couple Factor' as I like to call it. We bicker and fight over nothing just like an old married couple, too. Edel is currently attending Gadsden State Community College.
Edel - Lee I'm not in the mood for drama.
Lee - I don't want to hear about drama from you Mrs. 'My best friend is stealing my boyfriend! I hate her I hate her I hate her oh gosh I'm over him now I love her!'

The first time I saw Ginger was in 1998. I was a freshman at Gadsden High and I went to a jazz band performance at Disque Middle. Ginger was a trumpet soloist. I knew then that she was special. We became close friends when she made her way to GHS. She's gone from being driven around by me to danceline captain, high school graduate, Auburn University freshman, and I'm proud of her like I would be of a younger sister.
